MUNICH, May 8, 2016

Sabine Lisicki and coach Christopher Kas have parted ways. This was announced by the former Wimbledon finalist on Sunday morning via facebook.

“Christopher Kas and I will no longer work together. It’s been a very intense couple of years, I thank him for all the work and support through this time and wish him all the best for the future!

A new chapter starts right now. This means I will soon be represented by a new management and I will have a new coach by my side,” she stated on her fan page.

Former professional Kas, who reached a career high 17th position in the ATP doubles rankings, started to work with Lisicki at the beginning of the season in 2015. Both teamed-up together in the mixed competiton of the Olympic Games in London 2012. It was his first job as a coach on the tour.

It was the second bigger change for Lisicki this year, after she had broken up with her boy-friend Oliver Pocher in March. The 26-year-old from Berlin will work closer with her family in the near future. During the Mutua Madrid Open this week, she was accompanied by her father Richard, a graduated sports scientist. Lisicki lost in the second round to Carla Suarez Navarro. Her father will also attend next week’s tournament in Rome.
