AON Open Challenger-Memorial Giorgio Messina Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The AON Open Challenger-Memorial Giorgio Messina, an international tennis tournament currently taking place in Genoa, Italy received significant recognition from the ATP for celebrating its 20th edition. Very few Challenger tournaments worldwide have reached this milestone.

After the doubles final, ATP Challenger Supervisor Carmelo Di Dio presented the ATP Challenger Tour Award to the President of the Organizing Committee, Mauro Iguera, and the Tournament’s Operations Director, Renato Delsanto. The award is given to Challenger tournaments celebrating 20 years.

The ATP’s statement of congratulations read: “We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to building the legacy of this great tournament and congratulate each of you on this important achievement and your dedication. We wish you all the best for this 20th anniversary and look forward to many more within the ATP family.”

The 2024 doubles final was won by the Lebanese-Spanish duo of Benjamin Hassan and David Vega Hernandez defeating Monegasque Romain Arneodo and Frenchman Theo Arribage 6-4, 7-5 in front of a large crowd.
