The 31st edition of the € 64,500 Open Castilla y León, held from 25 to 31 July at the Villa de El Espinar, awaits the best line-up in the tournament’s history with the most international player’s field.
The 22 players, who entered the tournament directly, come from 16 different countries. The majority is from France with five players. 2014 champion Adrian Menéndez-Maceiras is the only Spaniard. The list is led by world number 78 Lukas Rosol, the best ranked player. With Illya Marchenko, the Czech is joined by a second top 100 player. 2015 quarterfinalists Mirza Basic and Yannick Mertens will also appear at thehard court event.
Three years ago Jerzy Janowicz was number 14 in the world and will now return to the tennis courts after he had been sidelined since the Australian Open in January due to injury. The 25-year-old Pole is currently ranked on 143rd position and wants to start his comeback on the ATP Challenger Tour.
