Top seed Albert Ramos clinched the title of the RFET Mapfre National Spanish Tennis Championships with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 final win over Roberto Carballés-Baena from Tenerife at the Rafa Nadal Academy on Sunday afternoon.
The World no. 27 from Barcelona took the National Title for the first time after being a finalist in 2012 losing to Pablo Andújar. Carballés finished runner-up for the second time after he had lost to Daniel Muñoz De la Nava two years ago.
In the women’s competition, top favourite Lara Arruabarrena gained her second National Title, following her triumph in 2014. The World No. 66 defeated 20-year-old Sara Sorribes, who appeared in her first Spanish title match at senior’s level, 6-1, 6-0.
