Saturday evening, Gael Monfils, David Goffin, Borna Ćorić and Ivan Dodig put on a big show for all the fans of top-quality tennis who had packed the Goran Ivanišević ATP Stadium to the last seat. World’s best tennis players opened the 28th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag with an exhibition match, thrilling the spectators with impressive tennis skills and, in Monfils’ case, spectacular dance moves.

The most skilled among the spectators were Mika Kaplan and Gordan Fran Mileusnić who had caught a tennis ball each, thus winning trips to the ATP Finals in London and the Next Generation ATP Finals in Milan, respectively, as well as valuable gift packages from Podravka and HEP.

In London, Mika will be able to see the world’s top tennis players, including Federer, Nadal, and Đoković, while in Milan, Gordan will root for our Borna Ćorić, while he competes against the best young players in the world in an attempt to win the title of the king of the new generation stars on the ATP Tour. Podravka’s head of culinary promotions Dražen Đurišević, head of HEP Opskrba Tina Jakaša, and Istraturist’s CEO and chairman of the tournament’s Organizing Committee Ronald Korotaj congratulated the participants and the lucky winners, presenting them with the valuable gifts.

On the first day of the 28th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag, a draw for the tournament was held, and the players learned about their first-round opponents. The top seed of the 28-man-draw, David Goffin, awaits the winner of the match between Damir Dzumhur and a qualifier. Second favourite Gael Monfils will open his Umag campaign against Rogerio Dutra Silva or a qualifier.

The day ended with a great concert by the legendary Parni Valjak. Several thousand people showed up at the Dance Arena, dancing late into the night to the songs of the Zagreb-based rock band who had tirelessly played hit after hit.
