Cameron Norrie of Great Britain captured the singles title of the $100,000 Tiburon Challenger presented by Wells Fargo. The eighth seed defeated the tournament’s number two Tennys Sandgren from the United States 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday’s final.
Norrie broke serve four times and won 56 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 13 minutes. Norrie has now won 21 of 25 matches since Wimbledon reaching a new career high World No. 136.

“I think it’s the best Challenger I’ve ever played,” said Norrie, who takes away $14,400 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points. It was the second ATP Challenger trophy for the 22-year-old following his triumph in Binghamton.
Goransson/Lakat Win Doubles Trophy

Earlier in the day, two strong teams were vying for the doubles title. Marcelo Arevalo from El Salvador and Miguel Reyes-Varela of Mexico were coming off a three-challenger winning streak, when they arrived at the Tiburon Challenger. However, they met their match when they came up against wildcards Andre Goransson from Sweden and Frenchman Florian Lakat, who prevailed to wins honors as the Challenger’s doubles champions.
Tournament director Brendan Curry congratulated all the players and commended them for their performance in an excellent week of tennis.
