CT Valencia Crowned Spanish National Team Champions

MURCIA, November 4, 2017

Club de Tenis Valencia captured the title of the 48th Spanish National Team Championships, winning Saturday’s final against CT Barcino 4-0. The competition took place at the venue of the Tenis Club Murcia from 2 to 4 November.

20-year-old Carlos Taberner gained the decisive point on Pista 1 with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 win over Steven Diez. Earlier in the day, Pablo Andújar defeated Jordi Samper-Montana 6-3, 6-2 and Daniel Gimeno-Traver eased past Eduard Esteve 6-0, 6-0.

Pedro Martínez Portero came back from a set down to overcome Enriuqe López-Pérez 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

The team from Valencia clinched the title for a third time following their triumphs in 2005 and 2009.
