NÜRNBERG, March 8, 2018

Defending champion Kiki Bertens will return to the Nürnberger Versicherungscup, the WTA International Event held at the venue of the 1.Fc Nürnberg from 19 to 26 May 2018. The 26-year-old from the Netherlands, who is currently ranked World No. 29, hoisted the trophy here in 2016 and 2017.

“It is not difficult to understand that I’m excited to come back to Nuremberg. After winning two times in a row this is and will always be a special place for me. But hopefully it won’t stop here, let’s go for a third title… See you all soon!” Bertens stated.

Bertens will join local favourites Julia Görges, Mona Barthel and Carine Witthöft, who already announced their paricipation in the $250,000 clay court event.
