The Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) continues to think about the future of tennis by launching the new MASTER Futuro Nacional MAPFRE, which will be played on December 20, 21 and 22 at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.
The tournament will be played in the new format of the Next Gen ATP Finals including best of five sets, first to four games in each set, tie-break at 3-all, no-ad scoring as well as on-court coaching.
Men’s entry list will be led by World No. 81 Jaume Munar. The 21-year-old from Mallorca will be joined by Pedro Martínez Portero, Mario Vilella, Alejandro Davidovich, Javier Barranco, Bernabé Zapata Miralles, Carlos Taberner and Carlos Alcaraz.
The women’s entry list include Aliona Bolsova, Guiomar Maristany, Eva Guerrero, Marina Bassols, Irene Burillo, María Gutiérrez, Claudia Hoste and Rosa Vicens.
Toni Nadal, director of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar has shown his support for this new competition: “It is great to welcome the players like Jaume, who will be part of the future of Spanish tennis, in our Academy. He is on the right track and his presence will be very good for the tournament as the people of Mallorca can enjoy a local player.”
