Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is the men’s champion of the inaugural Máster Futuro Nacional MAPFRE held at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Manacor, Mallorca. The 19-year-old from Málaga fought past Bernabé Zapata Miralles 2-4, 4-2, 4-0, 4-2 in Sunday’s final.
Davidovich lifted his maiden trophy on the ITF Pro Circuit this season, winning the $15,000 hard-court event in Quinta Do Lago, Portugal in March. He is currently ranked on a career high World No. 229.
“A great year is ending and with more strength to start 2019,” Davidovich stated on instagram.
Eva Guerrero wins women’s title
Earlier in the day, Eva Guerrero Alvarez clinched the women’s title. The 19-year-old from Madrid defeated Aliona Bolsova 4-2, 4-3, 4-3.
Guerrero clinched three ITF Pro Circuit titles and is currently ranked on a career high World No. 314.
Dani Caverzaschi beat Martín de la Puente por 6-2, 6-4 in the wheelchair final.
