KITZBÜHEL, August 7, 2019
A peak audience of 360,000 tuned in to watch the Kitzbühel singles final between home favourite Dominic Thiem and Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas. This was announced by the organizers of the Generali Open on Monday. TV-partner Servus TV grabbed a notable market share of 20 per cent on Saturday afternoon.
“We are proud of the viewing figures, which have even tripled in the lead, and thankful for Servus TV’s high-quality coverage and effort they were putting into the tournament. TV pundits Babsi Schett and Stefan Koubek enriched the live broadcast experience. It was also a completely new experience for me to be allowed to commentate the matches as a tournament director,” Alexander Antonitsch stated in a Generali Open press release.
Tournament organizers Herbert Günther and Markus Bodner also like the positive results: “We are very happy to have made the step with the new TV partner and look forward to develop the tournament further next year.”
