Angelique Kerber has withdrawn from the women’s final of the Hawaii Open Tennis Tournament, presented by Ward Village and Hawaii Tourism after she sustained an injury during warm-up this morning. As a consequence, Danielle Collins is the 2019 champion.

“I was looking forward to competing in the championship of the Hawaii Open today. During my warmup, I sustained an injury and unfortunately, have to withdraw,” said Kerber. “Thank you to all of my fans who came out to see me play. It was so great meeting you all in beautiful Oahu. I will be in attendance today to support the other players and I look forward to seeing everyone.”

In place of the women’s final, a mixed doubles match will be held including Sam Querrey, Christian Harrison and Danielle Collins. In the men’s final Brandon Nakashima will take on fellow US-American Sam Querrey. Nakashima has had an epic run through the first two rounds of the Hawaii Open.
