ITF Media posted on Twitter that the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme can confirm that Robert Farah provided an Out-of-Competition sample on 17 October 2019, which returned a positive finding for Boldenone. This case will follow the procedures set out in Article 8 of the TADP.

The 32-year-old Colombian, who was born in Montreal, Canada, and is currently ranked World No. 1 in doubles. Farah has a long-standing doubles partnership with countryman Juan Sebastián Cabal, with whom he has won 16 titles, including the 2019 Wimbledon title, 2019 US Open title and two ATP Masters 1000 trophies in Rome. He currently resides in Bogota, Colombia.
In a statement posted in Spanish on Twitter, Farah said he had tested positive for Boldenone and suggested the cause of the failed drugs test was due to contaminated Colombian meat. The South American described the news as “one of the saddest moments of his life.”
