ISLAMABAD, March 8, 2020
Only 18 games could be played in three days of the Davis Cup World Group I first round Play-Offs between Pakistan and Slovenia.
After a rainy Friday and an equally wet Saturday, the weather in Islamabad on Sunday afternoon has only slightly improved. Nik Razboršek and Aisam Quereshi, however, were finally able to get on the court to open the first singles rubber. With the Slovenian leading 6-4, 4-4 the match was suspended, as the grass at the Pakistan Sports Complex was too slippery.
Consequently, the match as well as all of the remaining rubbers were postponed to Monday.

“Today we had just over an hour of tennis. Nik Razboršek started very well,” Slovenia’s Davis Cup captain Miha Mlakar said.
“It is a very even match. He used his opportunities during the important points and played very well to win the first set. In the second set, they both had opportunities. It is a very tight match, it can go in every direction. After the first day, we are satisfied. Weather forecast for tomorrow seem to be good. There should be no rain. Tomorrow we will try to play as many matches as possible.”
