PULLACH, June 12, 2020
Yannick Hanfmann maintained his unbeaten start to the Tannenhof Resort German Men’s Series. The 28-year-old from Karlsruhe defeated Daniel Masur 7-5, 6-2 in the final match of the tournament series’ first round on a sunny Friday at the clay courts of the Tennis Club Großhesselohe.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome. Today was definitely my hardest match over the past four days,” said Hanfmann, who has qualified for the intermediate stage to be held at the TennisBase Oberhaching and in Großhesselohe in two weeks’ time. The World No. 143 received €5,000 in prize money.
“We are very happy with the four days of the tournament. Unfortunately we had to deal with some bad weather at the beginning of the week but I think we promoted the tennis sport as well as our club in a good way,” Roland Benedikt, president of the Tennis Club Großhesselohe said.
