Alexander Zverev has been facing a lot of criticism after images and a video emerged on social media wherein he can been seen partying at the Anjuna Plage Private Club in Monte Carlo just days after apologizing for his participation in the ill-fated Adria Tour in Belgrade, Serbia and Zadar, Croatia. The tournament, organized by Novak Djokovic, was cancelled midway after the World No. 1, Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, Viktor Troicki and several others tested positive for COVID-19.
Last week, Zverev had taken to social media to apologize for participating in the Adria Tour and said he will be in self-isolation and follow all the medical guidelines.
“I deeply apologize to anyone that I have potentially put at risk by playing this tour. I will proceed to follow the self-isolating guidelines advised by our doctors. As an added precaution my team and I will continue with regular testing,” the 23-year-old German had said in a statement last week.
Zverev was caught by an Instagram story published by German fashion designer Philipp Plein on Sunday which has since been deleted. Plein is the founder of the PHILIPP PLEIN International Group which includes different brands. The 42-year-old is listed as one of the richest people in Switzerland for 2019 by the business magazine Bilanz in their annual “Die 300 Reichsten” (Top 300 Richest) with a net worth of 300 million CHF.

Following the contorversy, Zverev has been facing the wrath of many other tennis professionals on Twitter and Instagram, including Australia’s enfant terrible Nick Kyrgios, who had previously blasted the players for the “boneheaded decision” of competing in the Adria Tour.
