Tournament owners Flash Entertainment announced on Wednesday that they will not host the 2020 edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi after consultation with stakeholders and tennis governing bodies. The company said it was a difficult decision but a result of scheduling challenges in the tennis calendar of events due to the international response to COVID-19.
“The safety and well-being of our guests, players, officials, and spectators always comes first and we look forward to welcoming the Championship back in 2021,” the tournament stated on its website.
The popular exhibition tournament in the United Arab Emirates was scheduled to be held at the Zayed Sports City on December 17 to 19, 2020.
