Heide Hoists O Ano II – Tennis Open Trophy

Brazilian teenager Gustavo Heide is the champion of the O Ano II – Tennis Open. The clay-court tournament is part of the Circuito Brasileiro de Profissionais da CBT and took place from December 14 to 20 at the Academia Paulistana de Tênis in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 18-year-old defeated No. 2 seed Daniel Dutra da Silvawinner of last week’s São Paulo Tennis Cup, 7-5, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.

“The most importing thing in today’s final was the serve. I didn’t got broken and managed to serve better and better throughout the match,” said Heide, who will focus on competing in the international Pro Circuit next year.

Dutra da Silva experienced another good week in a tournament organized by Instituto Sports. The 32-year-old played six finals in a row, captured three titles and finished runner-up three times. He lifted the trophies in Recife, Brasília and São Carlos and reached the final in São Paulo, Curitiba and Piracicaba.
