The singles final of the 21st edition of the Uruguay Open will conclude on Monday morning. Heavy rain interrupted Sunday’s championship match between Genaro Alberto Olivieri of Argentina and his second-seeded compatriot Tomas Martin Etcheverry ahead of the start of the third set.

Although ATP Challenger supervisor, Jaime Chavez, decided to wait a couple of hours, the inclement weather prevented the resumption of the match. The first set had gone to Etcheverry 7-6(3) while the second set was won by Olivieri 7-6(5).

With two and a half hours of play completed, the final will resume today, starting at 10 am local time. Admission will be free.
