PERUGIA, May 18, 2023

The Internazionali di Tennis Città di Perugia | G.I.Ma. Tennis Cup is set to return for its eighth edition. The ATP Challenger 125 tournament organized by MEF Tennis Events in the Umbrian capital will be staged June 11-18 on the clay courts of the Perugia Tennis Club, one of the oldest venues on the Challenger Circuit.

Last year Spaniard Jaume Munar captured the title following a three-set win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina in the singles final. Promotion of the new edition of the tournament has already begun with the launch of a video featuring Perugia native Francesco Passaro, ranked World No. 126. This is one of many initiatives that will highlight the city of Perugia and the event.

“With great pride, the city of Perugia is hosting the International Tennis Championships for the eighth time. The last editions had the privilege of hosting great players of Italian tennis as well as other champions of the international circuit,” said Andrea Romizi, Mayor of Perugia.

“It is a pleasure to be reunited with the same team year after year. The Internazionali di Tennis Città di Perugia | G.I.Ma. Tennis Cup has become a regular event for our city. The organizing committee, led by Cancellotti and Marchesini, sets no limits and I am sure that the event will continue to grow, establishing itself as a moment to promote tennis and the whole territory.”
