Olympic medalist Laura Pigossi of Brazil is set to start her journey to Paris this Tuesday to participate in the Olympic Games, which begin on Friday.
The memory of Pigossi’s historic bronze medal win in Tokyo, alongside Luisa Stefani, is still fresh in her mind. Currently ranked 110th in the world, Pigossi secured her spot in the French capital by winning the Pan American title in Santiago last season.
To celebrate her participation in the Olympic Games, Laura did a thematic photo shoot to mentally prepare and visualize positive outcomes.

“I prepare in every way possible, physically and mentally. I also like to visualize my achievements and relive those good feelings. This is very important to me and gives me a lot of strength,” Pigossi explained.
In addition to her determination, grit, and resilience, Pigossi will carry some bracelets she considers lucky charms. Handmade by Laura, these bracelets feature words like “attitude, heart,” and the phrase that became famous in Tokyo, “let us pray.”
“I’ll bring several with me, even to gift to some special people who also believe in lucky charms, because you can never have too much luck,” she joked.
Pigossi is particularly eager to participate in the opening ceremony this time. The 29-year-old missed the parade of delegations in Tokyo as she arrived after the date. As for her performance, she is optimistic.
“Surely, I am more prepared, more confident, knowing that I’ve done it once, so why couldn’t I do it again? I think it’s much more a matter of belief and confidence.”
Pigossi will arrive in Paris Wednesday afternoon, local time, and head straight to the Olympic Village.
