Australia will host the United States at Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane, Australia, on an outdoor hard court for the 2017 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Quarterfinal, taking place from 7 to 9 April.

The U.S. is 26-20 all-time against Australia in a rivalry that dates back to 1905, winning their last meeting, 3-1, in Kooyong, Australia, in the 2016 World Group First Round.

Nations normally alternate which country hosts the other with each tie. However, the U.S. and Australia played consecutive ties in America in 1997 and 1999, when the ITF staged the latter tie at the Longwood Cricket Club in Chestnut Hills, Mass., the site of the first-ever Davis Cup tie, as a 100th anniversary celebration of the competition. As a result, the two countries agreed their next two ties would be in Australia.

Earlier this year, the United States swept Switzerland, 5-0, in the World Group First Round in Birmingham, Ala., while Australia beat the Czech Republic, 4-1, in Kooyong.
