Andreas Seppi is set to return to his home tournament in South Tyrol for the first time in three years. The Bolzano native announced to compete in the €64,000 Sparkasse ATP Challenger Val Gardena held from 7 to 15 October at the Tennis Center in Ortisei.

“I always loved to play here. Unfortunately, I had to skip the tournament in recent years in order to get ready for the new season. As the event is taking place earlier this season and I am not playing in Asia, it suits well this year,” told Seppi, who won the tournament in Ortisei in 2013 and 2014.

“I hope to play another good tournament this year. I am looking forward to it!”

The 33-year-old Italian will play his first round match on October 10. A successful start would mean his 100th match win on the ATP Challenger Tour. Seppi only lost one match in Ortisei when he finished runner-up to Germany’s Benjamin Becker in the 2012 final.
