Pablo Carreno Busta won the Torneo 25 Aniversario Equelite by Reina, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Equelite Sport Academy run by former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Twenty-nine-year-old Carreno Busta defeated 17-year-old talent Carlos Alcaraz Garfia on the hard courts in Villena, Alicante, 6-2, 6-4 in Sunday’s final. Both players practice at Ferrero’s academy. The teenager from Murcia beat top 100 players Alex de Minaur and Joao Sousa en route to the title match.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina clinched the third place. The 21-year-old Spaniard benefited from the retirement of Australia’s de Minaur leading 5-2 in the first set.
