M15 Doha QAT – Dominik Palan captures maiden title 

The 5th Qatar Men’s ITF World Tennis Tour 2021, held at Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, concluded with the title win of Dominik Palan.

The 21-year-old won the all-Czech semi-final encounter against No. 7 seed Martin Krumich in two sets.

Dutch qualifier Sidane Pontjodikromo continued his great run of form beating No. 2 seed and last week’s Antalya champion Dragos Nicolae Madaras from Sweden in the stage of the last four in straight sets 

Unseeded Palan sent down eight aces in the championship match and broke his opponent’s serve four times to prevail 7-6, 6-3 in 95 minutes. The Hodonin native celebrated his first title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Monastir TUN – Renta Tokuda remains solid in Monastir 

Renta Tokuda emerged victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

In the semi-finals with the top four favourites in action, the 23-year-old Japanese rallied past Tunisian No. 3 seed Moez Echargui in three sets. 

The tournament’s top seed Skander Mansouri from Tunisia made the last step to the final with a three-set win against US-American No. 4 seed Omni Kumar.

Hiroshima-born Tokuda withstood 18 aces from his 26-year-old rival in the title match to secure a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory in two hours and 35 minutes. The No. 2 seed lifted his eighth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third in Monastir this season.
