After winning the Split Open in Croatia last week, Zsombor Piros continued his excellent run of form by lifting the trophy of the Oeiras Open 3 in Portugal. The 23-year-old Hungarian defeated Juan Manuel Cerundolo of Argentina 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final.
Piros converted all of his five break-point chances and won 56 per cent of the total points played to secure his 10th match win in a row after one hour and 27 minutes.

“I’m speechless. I have never won so many consecutive matches at this level and to be honest I surprised myself. The next step is to believe that I can do it more often instead of thinking that it only happened once,” Piros said.
“This week was obviously more special because I ended up with the trophy in my hands, but even last year, when I lost to Gastão Elias in the quarterfinals, I left here with very positive feelings. I really like the Portuguese public, the club is wonderful and the city is incredible, so I like everything about this tournament,” he added.
By winning his fourth ATP Challenger Tour career title, the World No. 134 pocketed €19,650 in prize money and earned 125 ATP Ranking points.
