Swiss Maestro Roger Federer will come to this year’s 30th edition of the Terra Wortmann Open. This was announced by the organizers of the ATP 500 grass-court event on Wednesday. The tournament will be held from June 17 to 25 in Halle, Westphalia, Germany.

“I’m looking forward to returning to one of my absolute favourite tournaments on the ATP Tour,” says the 41-year-old Swiss. “It’s an honour to come here and help the tournament celebrate this important anniversary in Halle.”

Wednesday, June 21 will now be named as “Roger Federer Day”, a very special day of celebration for all fans of the 20-time Grand Slam winner. “The rise of our tournament to world-class level is closely associated with Roger,” said tournament director and Managing Partner of the OWL Arena Ralf Weber.

“He has served as an outstanding ambassador for us over all this time, producing headlines around the globe.” The programme includes a tribute to Federer on Centre Court and numerous other activities to celebrate Federer and support the “Roger Federer Foundation”. Under the champion’s patronage, the foundation mainly takes care of educational projects on the African continent and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
