KITZBÜHEL, July 4, 2023
Roberto Bautista Agut leads the entry list of the 2023 Generali Open in Kitzbühel, Austria. The ATP 250 clay-court event will be held from July 29 to August 5.
The 35-year-old Spaniard is the defending champion in the Tyrolean Alps. Bautista Agut captured his 11th tour-level title by winning last year’s singles final over local wild card entry Filip Misolic. The World No. 23 will be joined by six Top 50 players this season.
Home favourite Dominic Thiem is currently at sixth position of the alternates. “But we hope that Dominic will still make it into the field and won’t need a wild card from us. Then we would have the chance to have four Austrians in the main draw, which would be our declared goal,” says tournament director Alexander Antonitsch. The two wild cards from the organizers for the main draw will be awarded at a later date. This also applies to the qualifying wild cards.
