NEWPORT, R.I, July 7, 2023 (Press Release)

Kevin Anderson, the 2021 Infosys Hall of Fame Open champion, is set to make his return to professional tennis at the Infosys Hall of Fame Open. Anderson has accepted a main draw wild card, and will play in his first ATP Tour competition since announcing his retirement in 2022.

“I’m thrilled to make my return to the Tour in Newport,” said Anderson. “Winning the Infosys Hall of Fame Open in 2021 was a special moment for me. I couldn’t think of a better place to make my comeback, and I’m excited to hit the grass once again.”

South Africa’s Anderson is a two-time Grand Slam finalist, having reached the 2018 Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic and the 2017 US Open final against Rafael Nadal. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 5 in 2018, becoming the highest-ranked African in the history of the Pepperstone ATP Tour rankings. In 2021, Anderson captured his seventh career singles title in Newport as a wild card, defeating Jenson Brooksby in the final 7-6 (8), 6-4.

The Infosys Hall of Fame Open player field will feature three past champions, including Anderson, four-time champion John Isner, and defending champion Maxime Cressy. The trio joins a strong player field that features rising American talent in world No. 15 Tommy Paul and Mallorca champion Chris Eubanks, and resurgent international competition in France’s Adrian Mannarino and Ugo Humbert.
