Argentine Mariano Navone captured the title of the inaugural AAT Challenger Santa Fe held at the Santa Fe Lawn Tennis Club. The top seed of the $40,000 clay-court event in north-eastern Argentina ended the run of 19-year-old qualifier and first-time finalist Adolfo Daniel Vallejo from Paraguay. Navone beat the teenager 6-2, 6-4 in Sunday’s championship match.
Navone converted six of his 16 break-point chances and won 55 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in one hour and 51 minutes.

By lifting his second ATP Challenger career trophy following his triumph at the Poznan Open in Poland last month, Navone earned $5,500 in prize money as well as 50 ATP Ranking points.
“It’s great to win my second Challenger event in a row. It was a fantastic week. I didn’t lost a set throughout the tournament. I am very happy,” said Navone.
