Qualifiers Complete Open Ciudad Pozoblanco Main Draw

The ATP Challenger Tour is back in southern Spain this week for the 28th edition of the Open Ciudad de Pozoblanco. The hard-court event offers a total prize money of €73,000 and is being held at the at the C.D. Open de Tenis Ciudad de Pozoblanco, a town situated in the lowlands of Los Pedroches of the province of Córdoba.

The qualifying concluded Monday with six players advancing to the main draw, including three Spaniards. Local wild card Pedro Vives Marcos defeated Evgeny Karlovskiy from Russia 6-3, 6-2. The 22-year-old from Mallorca broke his rival’s serve five times to secure victory in one hour and four minutes. Vives Marcos will take on Frenchman Terence Atmane in the first round of the main draw.

Home favourites Iñaki Montes de la Torre from Navarra and Alberto Barroso of the Extremadura also prevailed in their respective second-round qualifying matches.
