Three Frenchmen have booked their spots in the quarterfinals of the Open Ciudad de Pozoblanco. World No. 135 Hugo Grenier leads the field of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 hard-court event in southern Spain. The top seed defeated Alibek Kachmazov of Russia 7-6(2), 6-3 on Wednesday.
Grenier sent down seven aces and won 78 per cent of his first-service points to advance in one hour and 59 minutes. The 27-year-old will net take on his compatriot and No. 6 seed Antoine Escoffier, who edged out German Daniel Masur 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 19 minutes. Dan Added completed the trio following a 7-6(4), 7-6(6) victory over Mattia Bellucci of Italy. The longest encounter of the day lasted two hours and 37 minutes.
