Vit Kopriva clinched the title of the third edition of the NÖ Open powered by EVN, an €118,000 ATP Challenger Tour clay-court tournament held at the TC Tulln in Austria. In a singles final between two unseeded players on Sunday, the 26-year-old from the Czech Republic defeated Sumit Nagal of India 6-2, 6-4.
Kopriva advanced to the championship match with wins in the bottom half of the draw over his compatriot Zdenek Kolar, second-seeded home favourite Jurij Rodionov, Dimitar Kuzmanov of Bulgaria and No. 3 seed Maximilian Marterer of Germany.
The World No. 194 broke Nagal’s serve four times and won 56 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 36 minutes.

“I enjoyed it from the beginning and considered it a privilege to play here, and ultimately even to win,” said Kopriva. “The confidence grew throughout due to this good feeling, and in the end, it was probably my consistency that brought me the victory.”
The Bilovec native celebrated his third triumph on the ATP Challenger Tour, his second of the season following his victory in Verona, Italy in July. Kopriva pocketed €16,020 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
Tournament director Florian Leitgeb stated: “Alongside the tireless volunteers of TC Tulln and our fantastic partners, we have once again succeeded in making Lower Austria the stage for international top-level tennis in perfect weather conditions. Thanks to everyone – especially to my team – who contributed to making the third NÖ Open powered by EVN a reality. And a special thank you to the tennis fans who came out in such large numbers this week.”
