The ATP Challenger Tour has returned to Poland this week for the 2023 Invest In Szczecin Open. The €145,000 clay-court event has firmly established itself as a standout tournament on the tennis calendar. This prestigious competition, a three-time recipient of the Challenger of the Year award, boasts a rich history spanning over 25 years on the professional circuit.

Federico Coria took the title following a 6-1, 7-6(4) win over Vit Kopriva from the Czech Republic in Sunday’s singles final. In front of packed stands at Korty Mosrir, the No. 5 seed from Argentina capitalized on seven of his 18 break-point chances and won 54 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in one hour and 49 minutes.

Coria battled his way to the championship match with wins in the bottom half of the draw over German qualifiers Henri Squire and Lucas Gerch as well as third-seeded Spaniard Jaume Munar and Italian alternate Francesco Maestrelli.

By claiming his sixth ATP Challenger Tour career title, his second of the season after his triumph in Concepcion, Chile in January, the 31-year-old South American pocketed €19,650 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
