“It was a really tough match, against a tricky opponent, I knew it, we played a couple of times before, and I am really happy to get the win against Emil,” said Griekspoor. “I think he came out playing really well, I had to find solutions and adapted to his new tactics.”
Ruusuvuori and Griekspoor met on Center Court of the Royal Tennis Hall for their third meeting this year, with Griekspoor now leading 3-0.
“It is tough to say how far I can go this week, but I come to tournaments in order to win them. I feel comfortable and confident here, I like the circumstances, and I’m having a good time in Stockholm. It is my first time here, but hopefully not my last time. I really enjoy my time here, the crowd is great and thank you everyone for coming out and watching us,” Griekspoor said.
In other action, Roman Safiullin of Russia defeated Brazil’s Thiago Seyboth Wild to advance to the quarterfinals of the ATP Tour 250 event. Kotov beat Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 7-5.
