The semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Nordic Open ATP Tour 250 event in Stockholm are set. Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov upset No. 3 seed Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands 7-6(4), 6-2 on Friday.

The World No. 109 saved all seven break points he faced and capitalized on two of his own four break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 33 minutes.

Kotov will next take on Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia, who benefited from the retirement of home favourite Elias Ymer. The 24-year-old Belgrade native was leading 6-0, 3-2 when Ymer was forced to retire due to injury.

In the bottom half of the draw, Gael Monfils emerged victorious from the French derby with No. 2 seed Adrian Mannarino. The 37-year-old won 54 per cent of the total points played to secure a 7-5, 7-6(3) victory in one hour and 45 minutes.

Up next for Monfils will be either Laslo Djere of Serbia or Czech lucky loser Tomas Machac.
