Frenchman Corentin Moutet and Sumit Nagal of India will meet in Sunday’s singles final of the fourth edition of the HPP Open. The ATP Challenger Tour 125 hard-court event is being held at the Tali Tennis Center in Helsinki, the vibrant capital of Finland.

Moutet saved two match points in the stage of the last four on Saturday, fighting past his compatriot and No. 7 seed Arthur Rinderknech 5-7, 7-5, 6-3. The 24-year-old Paris native withstood 10 aces and broke Rinderknech’s serve one time to secure victory in two hours and 19 minutes.

Later in the afternoon, Nagal beat Italian lucky loser Stefano Travaglia 6-1, 6-4. The 26-year-old from Jhajjar won 78 per cent of his first-service points and capitalized on three of his six break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 13 minutes.

Moutet is seeking his seventh ATP Challenger career crown, his first of the season. Nagal could lift his fifth Challenger career trophy, his third of 2023 and second in Finland following his triumph on clay in Tampere in July. The pair’s head-to-head record is tied at 1-1.
