Three players within the top 100 of the ATP Ranking, and a total of 13 within the top 150, are part of the direct entries list for the Punta del Este Open, the largest ATP Challenger Tour tournament in the history of the city of Maldonado, Uruguay, scheduled for January 21 to 28 at the Cantegril Country Club clay courts.
Among them, nine are from Argentina, three from Italy, two from Chile, and one each from Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil. Several of these players are well-known in this region.
Two champions of the Uruguay Open, Genaro Olivieri (2022) and Hugo Dellien (2021 and finalist in 2014), are part of the direct entries. Also featured is the Argentine Mariano Navone, who claimed five Challenger titles during the 2023 season.
