Gianluca Mager advanced to the championship match of the inaugural Punta del Este Open after defeating fellow Italian Marco Cecchinato 6-3, 6-1 in Saturday’s semi-finals in one hour and three minutes.

Mager will take on World No. 118 Thiago Agustin Tirante of Argentina, who received a walkover from his compatriot Roman Andres Burruchaga, who was not able to play his semi-final match due to a wrist injury. The injury occurred in Friday’s quarterfinal match against Thiago Monteiro, where Burruchaga fell on the court, called for the doctor, and managed to continue the match with a bandage, eventually winning after more than three hours.
Dellien/Gomez triumph in doubles
Murkel Dellien and Federico Agustin Gomez clinched the doubles title. The Bolivian-Argentine duo secured their victory by defeating the second-seeded pair, Guido Andreozzi and Guillermo Duran of Argentina 6-3, 6-2.
Dellien and Gomez claimed the title after a 62-minute match, emerging as the champions of the tournament.
