ITF Press Release, March 14, 2024
Bologna (Italy), Manchester (Great Britain), Valencia (Spain) and Zhuhai (China, P.R.) will host the 2024 Davis Cup Finals Group Stage, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced.
The Finals Group Stage takes place on 10-15 September, with 16 teams vying for a place in the 2024 Davis Cup Final 8 in Malaga (19-24 November).
As in 2022 and 2023, the Finals Group Stage events will be played in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to Malaga, where the world’s eight best teams will play in a knockout competition for the right to be crowned World Champions.
David Haggerty, ITF President, said: “Last year’s Final 8 in Malaga was an incredible event for everyone involved, and the teams in the Finals Group Stage will be giving everything they’ve got for the chance to experience that again this year. The three returning hosts have track records for delivering great events, and we’re excited to bring the Davis Cup Finals to China for the first time – a location that will fit with player flow given the post-US Open Asia swing. All four cities will provide the perfect backdrop for more intense and exciting Davis Cup action, where the world’s best players will proudly represent their nations. We can’t wait.”
The 16 teams set to compete in the Davis Cup Finals Group Stage are:
Italy (2023 World Champions), Australia (2023 runners-up), Great Britain (wildcard), Spain (wildcard)
Qualifiers winners: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czechia, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia and USA.
Bologna (Unipol Arena) and Valencia (Pabellon Fuente de San Luis) will host for the third consecutive year, while Manchester (AO Arena) will host for the second year in a row. The event at the Hengqin International Tennis Center in Zhuhai will be the first time China has hosted a Davis Cup Finals event.
The draw for the Finals Group Stage will take place on Tuesday 19 March at 1400 GMT at the ITF offices in London. It will be live streamed via the Davis Cup website and social media channels
