Vallejo Captures Maiden Challenger Trophy At Sao Leo Open

Paraguayan teenager Adolfo Daniel Vallejo has clinched his first ATP Challenger Tour title by winning the Circuito Banco BRB/Engie De Tenis Profesional – Sao Leo Open. The 19-year-old wild card entry defeated Frenchman Enzo Couacaud 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final at the Sao Leopoldo Tennis Club.

Vallejo capitalized on four of his five break-point chances and won 58 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 25 minutes.

“It was an incredible week where I won my first international title. I would like to thank the organization and the people who cheered for me. I am very happy; it was a beautiful tournament,” Vallejo said after the match.

The World No. 472, who reached to top of the Juniors Rankings, captured his first title on the Pro Circuit. Vallejo earned $11,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.

Successful Sao Leo Open tournament
