Casper Ruud will return to Kitzbühel this summer, vying for his second title in the Tyrolean Alps. The 2021 Generali Open champion is set to compete in the ATP 250 clay-court event, which is scheduled for July 20 to 27.

“It’s a beautiful tournament with a great atmosphere. The organizers do everything for the players here. I want to come back for many years,” said Ruud after clinching the title. Now, three years later and seven ATP Tour titles richer, the 25-year-old Norwegian has fulfilled this promise and returns to the place of one of his first tournament successes.

World No. 8 Ruud will be joined by defending champion Sebastian Baez. The 23-year-old Argentine defeated home favourite Dominic Thiem in last year’s singles final. Nicolas Jarry of Chile and Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina will also be part of the 2024 line-up.

Sebastian Ofner and Dominic Thiem will represent the Austrian contingent. We would be very happy if more stars followed the example of Ruud, Thiem, Ofner, Baez, and Etcheverry and saw the Generali Open Kitzbühel as an optimal preparation for the Olympic Games. We will do everything to provide an optimal tournament infrastructure and a good Olympic final rehearsal,” tournament director Alexander Antonitsch stated.
