ANTWERP, April 30, 2024 (European Open Press Release)
Ethias is proud to announce that they are the new sponsor of the European Open 2024. This partnership confirms Ethias’ commitment to promoting active lifestyles and supporting world-class sporting events.
“Ethias is keen to get as many people as possible playing sport,” says Peter Maris, Head of Brand Communication & Activation at Ethias. “Because exercise, an active lifestyle, and working on our health, is something we, as an insurer, simply think is important.
“Sport has the power to connect people from all walks of life, from different regions, with different backgrounds, educations and from different origins, across all ages. Investment is key and young people are the future. That’s why we have been putting a lot of effort into our tennis-playing youth for years, through all kinds of initiatives such as the Ethias Tennis Tour Junior, the Ethias Belgian Junior Circuit, the top sports centres of the tennis federations as well as Ethias NextGen. And with results.
“Zizou Bergs as well as emerging talents such as Sofia Costoulas, Hanne Vandewinkel, Gilles-Arnaud Bailly and Alexander Blockx are fine examples of this and a great source of inspiration for future generations. Within this context, it is therefore natural that we act with great enthusiasm as sponsor of the European Open 2024.”
The European Open is known as a leading tennis event with a rich history and impressive participants. With former champions such as Andy Murray, Jannik Sinner, Felix Auger-Aliassime and last year’s titlist Alexander Bublik, the 2024 edition is expected to be another highlight in the world of tennis. Besides offering spectacular matches, the European Open is also taking several initiatives to get youth playing tennis, making the sport accessible to all ages and levels.
This year, the tournament introduces a new option for spectators to self-select their seats in the Lotto Arena. This change will allow tennis fans to personalise their experience and enjoy the event from their favourite spot. Ticket sales will begin on Thursday, May 2.
The European Open 2024 will take place from October 13-20.
