With another thunderstorm forecasted for Friday in Northern Italy, the organizers of the Internazionali Di Tennis – Citta’ Di Vicenza decided to finish the two singles second-round matches and four doubles quarterfinal matches indoors at the venue of the Canottieri Padova.

Bolivian Murkel Dellien advanced to the quarterfinals with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over No. 8 seed Stefano Travaglia from Italy. Dellien fired eight aces and won 92 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in one hour and six minutes.

Chun-Hsin Tseng from Chinese Taipei also secured his place in the stage of the last eight by defeating Juan Carlos Prado Angelo of Bolivia 7-6 (5), 6-0. Tseng broke his opponent’s serve five times to succeed in one hour and 40 minutes.

The winners from today join top-seeded Italian Francesco Passaro, Kazakh Dmitry Popko, fifth favourite Marco Trungelliti from Argentina, No. 3 seed Tomas Barrios Vera of Chile, Bulgarian Adrian Andreev and Nerman Fatic of Bosnia Herzegovina in the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 tournament. The matches will be held again outdoors on clay at the Tennis Palladio 98.
