STUTTGART, June 15, 2024
Matteo Berrettini is back in the final of the BOSS Open. The two-time Stuttgart champion emerged victorious from Saturday’s all-Italian affair, winning 6-4, 6-0 over Lorenzo Musetti. The 28-year-old Rome native, who is competing in his first tournament since Monte-Carlo in April, saved all four break points he faced and capitalized on four of his own four break-point opportunities to advance in 66 minutes.

“When you win like this, it’s better,” Berrettini said. “You just burn less energy. I think I played enough during the week. So today, it was really good to play an hour and six minutes.”
Former World No. 6 Berrettini has excelled on grass throughout his career. The 2021 Wimbledon finalist has clinched the Stuttgart title twice before and is now just one victory away from securing his third crown at the German ATP 250 event.
Berrettini will next take on Jack Draper, who will already become the new British No. 1 on Monday. The 22-year-old lefty from Sutton is one win from earning his maiden trophy on the ATP Tour after cruising past 2022 Next Gen ATP Finals titlist Brandon Nakashima from the United States 6-3, 6-3 in 72 minutes.
Draper, a five-time champion on the ATP Challenger Tour, struck 13 aces and won 94 per cent of his first-serve points. The World No. 40 did not face a break point in the match. Draper and Berrettini will meet for the first time.
