August Holgren and Antonie Escoffier will compete for the singles title of the Open Ciudad de Pozoblanco Memorial Fabián Dorado. Holmgren rallied past second-seeded Belarusian Egor Gerasimov 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-1 in Saturday’s semi-finals.

The No. 3 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour hard-court tournament in Andalucia fired 12 aces and won 81 per cent of his first-service points to secure victory in two hours and 21 minutes.

Escoffier remained untroubled in the all-French encounter with fourth favourite Robin Bertrand, winning 6-1, 6-1. The top seed broke his rival’s serve six times and won 68 per cent of the total points played to advance in only 57 minutes.

The 320-ranked Holmgren, 26, and World No. 209 Escoffier, 32, are both bidding for their first title on the ATP Challenger Tour. The pair will meet for the first time.

Added and Reymond triumph in doubles

Dan Added and Arthur Reymond emerged as the doubles champions. The French pair dominated the final against Liam Hignett and James Mackinlay. The British duo had been the tournament’s surprise package, having eliminated the top and fourth seeds to reach the chamionship match. Added and Reymond won 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and seven minutes, succeeding South Koreans Jisung Nam and Minkyu Song as champions. The Frenchmen split € 1,900 in prize money and collected 50 ATP Doubles Ranking points.

Added, who had previously won the Pozoblanco doubles tournament in 2022 and reached the semifinals in 2023, has become the first player to win the event twice since it became part of the ATP Challenger circuit.
