Three lucky losers were in action on Tuesday at the Atlanta Open and two advanced to the second round of the ATP Tour 250 hard-court tournament.

Adam Walton knocked off No. 6 seed Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia 6-4, 6-4. The 25-year-old Australian, who has captured three titles on the ATP Challenger Tour, saved all three break points he faced and converted two of his own three-point opportunities to prevail after one hour and 18 minutes.

Up next for Walton will be Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, who beat US-American lucky loser JJ Wolf 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 12 minutes.

Harold Mayot, who replaced Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia in the main draw, booked his spot in the second round following a hard-fought 7-6(9), 6-3 victory over Croatian Borna Coric. The 22-year-old from France withstood 15 aces and broke his rival’s serve twice to advance in two hours and three minutes. Mayot will next play fourth-seeded Australian Jordan Thompson.
