Top seeds Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Iga Swiatek from Poland began their campaigns at the Olympics with straight-sets wins on a rainy opening day at Paris 2024 that saw only 10 matches completed.
Carlos Alcaraz of Spain won two of those, adding a 7-6(4), 6-4 doubles victory alongside Rafael Nadal over Argentines Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni to his 6-3, 6-1 singles victory earlier in the day against Hady Habib of Lebanon.

Djokovic eased past Matthew Ebden of Australia 6-0, 6-1 in only 54 minutes.
“I feel very good. I feel more ready now than I was before Wimbledon. I really do feel better prepared,” said Djokovic. Olympics from the beginning of the year was one of the highest goals and objectives and priorities for this year. Let’s see how it goes.”
Swiatek defeated Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania 6-2, 7-5 and Angelique Kerber from Germany overcame Japan’s Naomi Osaka 7-5, 6-3 to round off the day’s action.
