The No. 4 seed from Australia hit 13 aces and won 78 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after two hours and 21 minutes. “I served really well today. I only was broken one time, held off a couple of games. I felt like my serve really kept me in it,” said Thompson.
Nishioka edged out Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in two hours and 19 minutes and will play in his sixth ATP Tour final, all on hard court. An Atlanta Open win will give him his third career ATP Tour title, his first since 2022.
