World No. 21 Felix Auger-Aliassime will compete in the European Open, a ATP 250 indoor hard-court event, which will be held from October 13 to 20 in Antwerp, Belgium. His participation was confirmed by tournament director Dick Norman on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Canadian won the European Open title two years ago over Sebastian Korda of the United States in straight sets. Auger-Aliassime recently finished fourth at the Paris Olympic Games, losing the bronze medal match to Lorenzo Musetti of Italy. A former Top-10 player, he has won five career singles titles on the ATP Tour, including Rotterdam, Florence, Antwerp and Basel in 2022 and Basel last year.

“His win remains a highlight in the history of our tournament, and we look forward to see him shine again in a packed Lotto Arena,” Norman said in a statement.

This season, Auger-Aliassime has compiled a 27-21 win-loss record on the ATP Tour. His best finish was reaching the final at Madrid. He is competing for Canada in this week’s Davis Cup Finals Group Stage in Manchester, England.

Previous early commitments for this year’s European Open announced by the tournament have come from World No. 12 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece and No. 72 Zizou Bergs of Belgium. The defending champion is No. 27 Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan.

The full entry list for this year’s European Open will be revealed on Sept. 17.
